Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've
learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world.
One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live apart.
I might make mistakes, I am only human, as they say. But What I find is what I find. If i'm wrong, please
let me know and it will be corrected, but I try to get documentation and certification to back it up.
ENJOY, and hopefully this isn't boring. It's history, what our country was built on. It and My LORD. This
is true to the best of my knowledge.
On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am; I am Kathryn Mary Schu Switzer, the 9th child
out of 10, of my parents, Richard Andrew Schu Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Smith (aka; Mildred Eliz. Joslin). Daddy
was from Evansville, Indiana, which they came from Germany in mid 1800's; and mom came from Cooperstown, New York, with tragedy
in her young life. Both ended up in Texas, where all but one of the 10 children are living. We'll have her here in time.
lolol. I am an Artist / dog-horse trainer / retired vet tech / dog groomer-breed researcher-behaviorist / and ex postal
carrier, but above all, daughter-sister-wife-mother-grandmother and rancher. I raise AKC boxers-horses-chickens-birds-cats.
I LOVE THE LORD ABOVE and life as HE gives it to me. I thank GOD for ALL I have and whatever HE gives me. HE is my Savior
and This is dedicated to HIM!!!!
What inspired me to do this research, was, my mother. She was suppose to been adopted from a very
young age, and wasn't. She never knew her parents beyond the tender age of 5 years, nor her 3 brothers and one sister.
Most of this information was obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records
/ census / internet. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought
possible! BUT, I love finding each and every new member that comes along!!!! I just wish I could of done the finding
Before mother died. But she sees what myself and another sister, Joyce Williams are doing.
This is
a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture. Or if you have
any info that I have that for some reason is wrong, I try hard for it NOT to be, thru documents and certification.
I will have familytrees / family charts / history / hand-me-down stories, some true, and some probably not so true. copies
of birth-marriage-death-christed-baptism-census and pictures as I get them.
